"Yoga Basics" or the Special “Beginner Series” are recommended as a place for all beginning students to begin their practice of yoga and is intended as a prerequisite before attending any "Mixed Level" classes. Classes designated as "Beginner & All Levels" are open to all levels from beginner to advanced. There are no prerequisites for "Beginner & All Levels" classes.
Mixed Level:
Regular classes designated a "Mixed Level" are designed for students who have attended the “Yoga Basics” class, the Special “Beginner Series” or for students who have been practicing yoga prior to coming to the studio that have a basic understanding of breath and a basic understanding and ability in practicing basic poses, basic alignment and Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation).
Regular classes designated as “Intermediate level” classes are designed for students who have attended Mixed Level classes or who have been practicing yoga for several months prior to coming to the studio.  This level of class is for students that have an established ability, relative ease and understanding of standing poses, sun salutation (Surya Namaskar) with an introduction to backbends, arm balances and inversions and that want to take their practice to a deeper, more challenging level. Arm balances, balancing poses, inversions, backbends and breathing practices are developed further in intermediate level classes.
Regular classes designated as "Intermediate/Advanced Level" are specifically designed for students who have an established practice and who are able to practice Urdhva Dhanurasana (backbend), and kick up into Urdhva Vrksasana (handstand - at the wall) with minimal or no support.  In addition to more “advanced” poses; in these classes we take the practice to a deeper level, developing the subtleties of the practice to include the intricacies and inner workings of the yoga on all levels - body, breath, mind and spirit - on and off the mat.
