Nancy Sorenson, CYT, RYT 200
Nancy teaches a gentle yet powerful style of hatha yoga drawing on her training from various teachers and is currently most influenced by the teachings and principles of Anusara yoga founded by John Friend. Nancy began practicing yoga in 1989 with Maria Theresia and Roberto Mazzarrella and completed the Yoga Therapy College teacher training in Houston in 1996. She completed a Yoga Alliance 200 hour certification in February 2002 at Yoga West and an Anusara teacher training with Betsy Dowling in 2005.
Nancy has been teaching in various corporate and private health clubs and local churches since 1996 when she was "downsized" from a corporate job in managed mental healthcare. Nancy now teaches full time regular classes, retreats and private sessions. Nancy encourages her students to fine tune their iner awareness, listening and discovering with the body and mind to create health and vitality. Students learn to practice effectively at their own level leaving a class feeling strenghtened, refreshed and uplifted. Nancy believes that a consistent yoga practice leads to a life of long term health and deep peace. In addition to her passion for yoga Nancy enjoys organic vegetable gardening, the raw foods lifestyle including teaching live foods and nutrition classes, and sells a signature salad dressing at local area farmers markets.
